“Linda Missad and Whimsy played for the Advanced Radiology Services Christmas Party on December 17, 2004. Linda played the piano during our cocktail hour and the trio played for dancing after dinner. The musical selections were wonderful, beautifully played (and sung) and danceable. We especially enjoy the fact that they don't play too loud because we have had that before and it's no fun to shout at people you want to talk to. We look forward to having them back again next year.”

- Vicki Larson

“They were just the right thing for our outdoor festival.  Everyone enjoyed it.  People were dancing & having fun.  We'll definitely have them back for future festivals.”

- Don Kurylowicz, owner - Honey Creek Inn, Cannonsburg

Who is Whimsy?

Linda Missad!
If you have experienced any theater or musical event in West Michigan, chances are you have encountered Linda’s fantastic flying fingers on her keyboard. Highlights of her extensive resume include the River City Jazz Band, Circle Theatre, G.R. Civic and Cherry County Playhouse. After dazzling audiences for 30 years in solo work and ensembles, she has a repertoire spanning from Bach to the Beatles, the B52’s, Beyoncé and Beyond.

On one adventure in the arts during the 80’s, Linda encountered an actor/singer at rehearsal for Sweeney Todd. She had no idea at that time that he was a drummer....

Jim Sommerfeldt!
True enough, most art seekers know Jim through his prolific theatrical work, directing and performing on the left coast of Michigan. He also is a playwright, songwriter and author of a picture book, Thickened Flied Lice. But drumming has been his passion, and he has performed in bands and pit orchestras here and there and everywhere. Once in a while he’ll grab the microphone, and you’ll hear why he’s been cast in leads in many a show.

Even before Jim met Linda, he had the great joy of becoming a father. He had no idea at that time that his baby boy was going to be such a singer....

Erich Sommerfeldt!
From New York’s West Side Café direct to you. After years as a well-known child performer in West Michigan, Erich moved on to Western Michigan University’s renowned musical theatre program, gaining prominence and acclaim. A true “triple threat”, Erich brought his Broadway Baritone to New York before settling in Kalamazoo for graduate studies. One listen and you will know why he is called, “The Voice.”
